Diana Krall has cancelled her fall U.S. tour and delayed her upcoming album after suffering complications from an illness.

The the 49-year-old pianist and singer was recently diagnosed with pneumonia; however, her condition has become much worse than doctors initially anticipated.

Krall is under strict doctors orders not to travel for at least two months while she recovers. This has forced her to delay the release of her long-awaited new album Wallflower – Her first studio album since 2012’s Glad Rag Doll. The album, which features songs by Bob Dylan, the Eagles, Elton John, and a new song written with Paul McCartney, was originally due to be released on October 21. Instead, the album is now slated for release on February 3, 2015 on Verve Records.

“I’m deeply saddened that I will have to postpone the release of my new album ‘Wallflower’ and the ‘Wallflower U.S Fall Tour’ until next year,” Krall wrote in a statement. “I’ve been battling a severe case of pneumonia and am under doctor’s orders to rest for the next few months in order to regain my strength and good health.

“Performing is both a privilege and joy for me. When I go out on stage I want to be able to give it everything. Taking this time to rest and recuperate will allow me to do that.”

Krall has also had to cancel all the U.S. dates of her Wallflower Tour, which was originally due to kick off in Phoenix, AZ on November 7. Krall’s team are working hard to secure new dates for shortly after the new album release date. Information on the new tour dates will be available on Diana Krall’s website soon.
