The president of Blue Note Records, Don Was, just bought a new home in Santa Monica, CA for a cool $2.75 million.

Details of the sale was first reported by the LA Times with data from Celebrity Address Aerial, who tracked down details of the private sale and found that Was was the buyer.

The Mediterranean-style home was built in 1988 and features five bedrooms, six bathrooms, a library, and more than 5,500 square feet of living space. The house was previously sold in 2004 for $2 million.

Was, 62, was appointed president of Blue Note Records in 2012 after a long a distinguished career producing records for the likes of The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Ringo Starr, Willie Nelson, Elton John, Stevie Nicks, George Clinton, and B.B. King. He is also a noted bassist and composer.

Was, real name Don Fagenson, performed alongside founding Beatles member Ringo Starr on stage at the Grammys earlier this year. Was held down the lower octaves while Starr sang his hit single “Photograph” from his 1973 album ‘Ringo.’
