If you live in London, England and went through St. Pancras station yesterday, your journey likely suffered a welcome delay when Jamie Cullum performed an impromptu rush-hour concert in the concourse.

The station was brought to a standstill as the 33-year old singer/pianist/broadcaster performed tracks from his new album ‘Momentum,’ accompanied by the National Youth Jazz Orchestra (NYJO).

The appearance marked the first of many impromptu concerts by Cullum, who also performed at The Shard on the same day.

Speaking about why he chose to perform at the station, Cullum said: “I’m in and out of St. Pancras a lot… There’s a piano in the station and I’ve seen a lot of people bucking here. I’ve always walked past them and thought, ‘I’d fancy playing on that’.”

Cullum also admitted he hadn’t rehearsed with the NYJO at all, calling them “a crack team of musicians” before they got together to bring the St Pancras concourse to a standstill.
